Job Description

The Guardianship Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and oversight of the Guardianship staff located within all the Advocacy & Guardianship Department (AGD) sites. The incumbent is responsible for the day to day supervision of the all the Guardianship staff tribal wide, in addition to carrying a client case load as necessary. The incumbent in this position is also responsible for providing in-depth individual, or family consultation services to Tribal Members in areas such as crisis intervention, case management, child abuse, elder abuse, assessment of the safety of the children and wards, ward's affairs, ensuring proper coordination of services related to their personal care, medical care, well-being, legal matters, and/or control of the property/finances. The incumbent plays an intricate role in assisting with the Guardianship Petitioning process. Employees in this class perform duties with some autonomy; makes independent judgments within established policies and procedures. Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Case Management or related field is required. License as Clinical Social Worker (CSW), license as Mental Health Counselor (MHC) or license as Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is preferred. A minimum of four (4) years of work experience in the child welfare field or in behavioral health, including experience working with children and families and/or community-based treatment is required. Knowledge of guardianship laws and its applications is required. Knowledge of the Florida Department of Children and Families, adult protective services, and related service providers/programs as applicable, is required. Ability to exemplify the highest level of professional standards/ethics and demonstrate appropriate and culturally sensitive service delivery and community based treatment. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and a good driving record. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
