Job Description

Arizona State University is seeking a Training Lead to lead the training initiatives within the Organizational Change Management (OCM) team on the HCM Innovation project. This position ensures the coordination, development, and delivery of training and other educational material in support of the transition from PeopleSoft HCM and associated programs to Workday HCM. Programs will be developed and delivered using blended learning techniques, including instructor-led training, virtual training, quick reference guides and web-based courses, among others.

Essential Duties

  • In partnership with the Readiness Lead and project work stream leads, conduct training needs analysis, and create design options and strategies that result in appropriate blended training solutions throughout the project life cycle, including sustainment assets following go-live.
  • Attend OCM work stream team meetings to represent training needs, keep the team up-to-date and partner on OCM activities.
  • Work with project work streams, change analysts and readiness coordinators to understand individual and unit training needs and methodology for delivery.
  • Use the appropriate delivery modalities and best practices to prepare audiences with different learning styles and outcome requirements to adopt changes for their audience role.
  • Develop and deliver instructor-led, computer-based, web-based and virtual training sessions using a variety of instructional tools, like Zoom, Articulate Storyline, quick reference guides, and other modalities that align with the training needs analysis.
  • Coordinate and schedule learning events for all project-related sessions at all university campuses and locations.
  • Maintain and manage attendance records, produce regular attendance reports and generate attendance certificates for participants.
  • Assist with the development, modification and updates of program curriculum and/or content and materials.
  • Develop program performance and learning objectives to provide a standard against which program content/curriculum and delivery may be measured for effectiveness of training.
  • Determine appropriate learning resources, training programs and delivery methods and techniques to meet identified needs of individuals and groups.
  • Assist impacted employees with recommendations for training options based on job function or need.
  • Assist impacted employees in locating web-based training, resolving technical issues, and meeting other customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Partner with HCM Innovation communications team to ensure that all training assets align with university branding standards.
  • Keep current on new instructional design and development methods.
  • May assist with managing and reporting on online registration events.
  • May represent the department at meetings and events.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, instructional design/technology, or social and behavioral science or related field, and four (4) years training and development experience, OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in a complex, higher-education environment.
  • Experience with Workday HCM, financial and/or student systems.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining training attendance records.
  • Knowledge of multimedia development and delivery tools such as Zoom and Articulate Storyline.
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced, continually-changing and deadline-driven environment, while maintaining multiple priorities.
  • Experience in fostering a team-oriented work environment.
  • Experienced with delivering instructional material in a blended learning environment.
  • Experience with reporting and analyzing training data, such as to determine appropriate training resources are available to meet customer needs.
  • Instructional design and development capabilities for a variety of learning modalities, using industry-standard development software (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Microsoft PowerPoint, Zoom, etc.).

Working Environment

  • Work in an office setting and use office equipment (i.e. computers, printers, copiers, calculators, telephones.
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time, travel moderate distances to perform work.
  • Communicate to perform essential duties.
  • Read and interpret written and oral instructions/directions.
  • May require lifting of items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • This position is a project-based role and is funded for two years.
