Job Description

LOCATION: Laura Danieli Senior Activity Center


STATUS: FT/40hr/week


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Head Cook/Kitchen Manager will be responsible for all daily operations of the kitchen. Will prepare daily meals for congregate and home delivered meals, which can include as many as 600 meals daily making sure to maintain the Health Department standards for food safety. Will be responsible for the ordering and receiving all food, supplies and equipment with final approval by Program Director. Must track and inventory all invoices as well as create menus and prepare meals according to Area Agency on Aging standards and guidelines. Must have knowledge of nutritional values. Other duties as assigned by supervisor as they relate to the position of Head Cook/Kitchen Manager.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 21 or older
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and have a level 1 fingerprint clearance card
  • Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license with clean MVR
  • Must have a kitchen manager certificate
  • Must have experience and/or education in food management services
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to multitask and work in a team environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
