Job Summary - CORRECTIONAL HEALTH

Controls and communicates information to Harris Health community/specialty clinics to include scheduling appointments, x-rays, laboratory results, and coordinates the returning of results. Responsible for notifying the Transportation Division of the Harris County Sheriffs Office of the need to transport the inmates to various clinics the following day. Maintains a database/log of pending appointment in the Harris Health Specialty clinic. Works in collaboration with the Harris Health Patient Access Management (PAM) team. Prepares physician consults to send to Lyndon Baines Johnson General Hospital (LBJGH), Ben Taub General Hospital (BTGH), or other health care agencies in order to schedule appointments for various clinics unable to be accessed through the Harris Health Systems EPIC system. For those clinics accessed through the Harris Health System EPIC, enters referral requests electronically. Completes all administrative processes and forms for patients attending telehealth appointment inside the Harris County Jail facilities.


Minimum Qualifications

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: High School Diploma/GED

Work Experience: Two (2) years Secretarial or Office Management experience using MS Access and Excel

Management Experience (Years and Area): Two (2) years Preferred

Equipment Operated: Desktop computer, copier, fax

Other Skills:

Work Schedule: Overtime, Eligible for Telecommute
