The Hospice Director is a Full-time position open at our Ontario location.

Requirements of the Hospice Director:

  • Current RN license in State of CA
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years successful management experience in hospice care.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage strategic initiatives and produce measurable deliverables.
  • Proven leadership experience including ability to act as a change agent and implement change.

Hospice Director Duties Include:

  • Provides overall direction for hospice operations, ensuring the safe delivery of high-quality patient care. Assist with the development and implements policies and procedures for the hospice program.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to hospice management as to current areas of focus within the organization.
  • Coordinate Medical Director services to meet patient needs and regulatory compliance.
  • Supervises the hospice management. Coaches management in areas of individual need, holding them accountable for the performance.
  • Works closely with QAPI/PI Director to ensure compliance with Medicare regulations, as well as other federal, state, certification, and payer requirements. Provides implementation guidance to individual location managers, and holds them accountable for implementing plans to meet standards.
  • Works collaboratively with Business Development to facilitate growth of the hospice program while adhering to hospice admission criteria. Participates in building effective relationship with referral sources and community outreach.
  • Actively participates in the development of the annual budget. Works with direct reports to determine growth projections and budgetary needs. Assimilates and provides that data to CFO and President/CEO to finalize budget. Manages to finalized budget.
  • Reviews, authorizes and processes all Hospice related payables.
  • Maintains current knowledge of hospice regulations, and develops and implements educational programs to ensure that staff are informed and trained. Keeps executive management informed of changes in regulations that will impact the Agencys operations. Develops plans to abide by those changing regulations.
