About this position:

Albion Healthcare's Division has a client looking for a Hospital Security Officer to work at the Kendall, FL area. To minimize risk and assure the safety of our client campus with controlled access and screening of all staff, other healthcare providers and guests. To consistently follow all established protocols to include temperature checks and distribution of personal protective equipment to every employee, medical staff and guest seeking access to our buildings. The established screening guidelines and processes as well as the role of screeners are an important part of controlling transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

Essential Job Function:

• Responsible for taking the temperature of every employee, medical staff and guest entering the hospital. Verify credentials to assure appropriate access for those seeking entry.
• Deny entry access to any employee, medical staff and guest with a recorded temperature of 100.4 or higher and/or anyone refusing to follow established process. Maintain a log of employees and medical staff with temperatures higher than 100.4.
• Communicate with leadership team immediately regarding any employee or medical staff who fail to meet screening criteria.
• Upon entry, distributes one mask to each employee, medical staff member and guest. Document and track number of masks provided.
• Maintains strict confidentiality as defined in BHSF Privacy Policy to include but is not limited to, Be On The Look Out (BOLO) information and other sensitive hospital data.
• Assure continuous presence and safety of campus by alternating lunch/breaks with other members of the screening team. Willingly provide temporary coverage to another post as needed.
• Is observant of environment with immediate alert to security team of suspicious activity. May have to manage traffic at peak times (start of every shift).
• Serve as an extension of security staff and responds as appropriate to secure the facility during internal/external disasters and threats. Is knowledgeable of hospital codes along with use of assigned two-way communication device.
• Has continuous contact with care providers and guests, representing the organization in a way that consistently demonstrate organizational values and service standards. Assists all guests in wayfinding including securing shuttle services as appropriate.
• Consistently demonstrate responsibility and ownership. Stay at assigned post until incoming shift arrive. Does not abandon post at any time. Communicate pertinent information at shift change to assure consistent service and to minimize variance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Regarding Qualifications:

Less than 1 year. Basic computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft programs.
