House Supervisor RN Ex

This position is subject to the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Steward Health Care Workforce. POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the House Supervisor is responsible for managing the Nursing Staffing Office, facilitates Departmental operations through the coordination and supervision of direct patient care on all nursing units. This individual assists in appropriate allocation of nursing personnel on a daily basis to meet patient care requirements in collaboration with the Clinical Directors, Assistant Clinical Directors or Director/Managers for each unit. The House Supervisor makes decisions independently in areas of responsibility based on Administrative and Departmental operational standards and coordinates all Hospital operations in the absence of Department Directors in consultation with the Clinical Directors and other Department Directors as needed. Ensures adherence to standards in Patient Care Services based on Hospital Administrative Standards, Human Resources Standards, and Department of Nursing Standards in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Current licensure in
  Texas as a Registered Nurse.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Previous managerial experience in clinical nursing within the hospital environment or Charge Nurse experience preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years clinical practice preferably in ICU or Emergency preferred.
• Experience as a nurse manager preferred.
