Housekeeping Supervisor - PM Shift

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

This position contributes to Sanctuary success by training and supervising PM/Turndown employees. Duties include cleaning public areas and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout resort facilities.


JOB FUNCTIONS

Note: the following duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive.

Communicate and coordinate housekeeping work with related departments.

Maintain stocked, neat and orderly storerooms.

Responsible for care and maintenance of all equipment. Complete work orders for maintenance and turn in copy to Director of Housekeeping.

Assist in preparation of monthly and/or quarterly inventories.

Perform reasonable additional duties as requested by the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Manager. Conduct any reports that are needed.

Maintain cleanliness of all public and employee areas.

Maintain all service closets in order.

Follow up from day shift in checking rooms, etc.

Check all pools 2-3 times each night.

Maintain the laundry facilities throughout the evening.

Fold and conduct daily quality inspections of terry.

Check messages all evening for guest requests.

At end of shift, turn off all lights, all washers and dryers and lock up housekeeping department.

Help room attendants move furniture from time to time.

Close all HOTSOS orders and Traces for the day.

Follow up on every guest or employee issue with the Director of Housekeeping.

Perform additional duties as requested by the Housekeeping Director.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximize employee morale and productivity.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies/applicable law.

Develop individuals for future advancement.

Supervise and train employees to provide a well maintained and clean resort.

Set up rotational and special cleaning projects and supervise completion.

Prepare weekly schedules, and update job descriptions as required.

Assist in performing necessary supervisory functions to effectively manage personnel.

Train and monitor performance of turn down attendants and house persons.

Provide organization, instruction, guidance, communication, counseling, as well as exercise good judgment, while reinforcing Sanctuarys high standards of quality.

Conduct performance reviews on night housekeeping employees and submit to Housekeeping Director.

Ensure all jobs are completed within the shift and prepare P.M room status report.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to perform tasks while consistently bending, stooping, kneeling or standing

Ability to stand, sit, kneel constantly to handle demands of quality guest service

Ability to move and work throughout the property for the duration of the shift.

Ability to work in extreme hot, cold and wet conditions.


PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Ability to maintain a pleasant disposition and work smoothly in high stress work environment.

Have solid interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and detail oriented.

Adhere to uniform, personal hygiene and appearance standards at all times.

Take the initiative to make contributions to the department and resort while maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers.

Maintain good safety habits. Report unsafe or hazardous conditions to your manager.

Promote excellent guest relations while living the Sanctuary Commitments.

Practice teamwork and effective communication with manager/supervisor/co-workers.

At all times maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and a positive attitude towards all resort guests and fellow co-workers.

Attend all meetings and training as scheduled by department manager.

Must be able to work flexible hours to include all shifts, weekends and holidays


QUALIFICATIONS

Education:High School Diploma/G.E.D. Equivalent.

Related Work Experience:Less than one (1) year related work experience. Experience in a resort is preferred.
