CPLC De Colores Domestic Violence programs provide a safe and secure for families to heal from the traumatizing effects of abuse. Shelter and community-based services meet survivors where they are to help them discover their strengths and regain their freedom.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Provide sexual and domestic violence supportive services, housing advocacy, education, housing navigation, and case management to survivors of sexual and domestic violence for clients participating in the De Colores Community-Based Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must be able to work with families in crisis and offer supportive services.
• Ability to work in an active environment in a community-based setting.
• Excellent networking skills.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) required.
• Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to be insured under the automotive insurance policy.
• Able to work a flexible schedule as needed per program requirements.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Have good organization and time management skills.
• Must have current Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to have one within 60 days of employment.
• Must pass a background screening before starting.
• Must be 21 years of age.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES

• Provide appropriate support services such as housing navigation, building relationships with landlords and property owners in the community, and supportive services to survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Support clients to increase their knowledge of community resources.
• Advocate for clients' housing needs, such as; finding a place to live, employment, furniture resources, financial planning, landlord advocacy, and introduction to community resources. Support clients with long-term permanent housing goals to promote retention and long-term independence.
• Determine each client's levels of financial assistance, short-term housing subsidy, utility, and moving assistance.
• Establish and maintain relationships with landlords and property managers in the community that can offer appropriate and safe apartments/homes to rent to program participants.
• Develop a knowledge base of local and state agencies that assist victims of domestic violence in the community.
• Maintained client records for all services rendered.
• Complete all training courses within the timeframe specified.
• Participate in program activities, staff, clinical meetings, planning, and problem-solving.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Effective January 3, 2022, all CPLC Employees and all Service Providers must be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19. Newly hired employees, who are not Fully Vaccinated at the time of hire, are expected to begin a vaccination series immediately upon hire. CPLC recognizes medical and religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement by applicable law and upon approval by CPLC. However, any person approved for an exemption, without exception, is subject to masking.
