LOCATION: Phoenix South Mountain Kroc Center

STATUS: FT/40hrs/wk

ABOUT US: The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is an outstanding 147,000sf building with over 20 indoor rooms and spaces including: a chapel with performing arts space, music room, library, computer room, and numerous classrooms; active recreation space with a fitness center, wood floor studio, indoor pool with waterslides and sprays, a gymnasium with three NBA-sized courts, a walk/jog track, and a boxing room; and, a large community gathering hall with a kitchen, dance studio, teen center, wellness center, and more. In addition, there are outdoor fields, an amphitheater, a water spray-ground patio, and plazas. The Kroc Center is an amazing resource to the community and is a community center for arts, education, recreation, spiritual guidance, and wellness…a place for nurturing and developing the mind, body, and spirit.

The Salvation Army is looking for a Human Resource Coordinator at the Phoenix South Mountain Kroc Center. The successful candidate will be an outgoing, highly motivated individual dedicated to making a difference in their community.  

The Human Resource Coordinator (HRC) will provide support to the Center Administrator(s) to work in cooperation and collaboration with DHQHR. The HRC will assist in the processing of HR paperwork and in-house on-boarding protocols, as well as pre-employment testing, mandatory e-learning compliance, maintaining confidential employee files and ensuring compliance with company & regulatory standards. Will assist in the new hire process, assign uniforms and badges, train and assist employees with use of the timekeeping system, reset Touchbases as needed, and ensure compliance with regulatory posting requirements on the employee bulletin board(s). The HRC will work with DHQHR in reviewing and checking biweekly payroll for accuracy. The HRC will assist with internal and external audits as assigned and will encourage and assist in compliance with the Maricopa County Trip Reduction Program. 

The HRC will assist with the seasonal campaign (Christmas) in hiring, data entry into the Kettle system, counting kettles, tracking time and assisting with payroll.  This position is privy to a great deal of confidential information, as such is expected to maintain strict confidentiality. This position is benefit eligible and comes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • AA degree preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in human resource management environment required
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Must have excellent computer skills using MS Office applications 
  • Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean driving record & insured/reliable transportation
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR and AED is required within 2 months of hire
  • Ability to maintain a positive & professional attitude while interacting with Kroc employees, guests, and the general public with diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to function effectively with minimal supervision 
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing work environment
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Responsive, detail-oriented ability to take projects from concept through completion
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to carry out multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Certification by and participation in The Salvation Army’s Fleet Safety Program on an annual basis
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable but not required
  • Successful criminal background check required
