Position Summary |
The Department of Neurology is seeking a full time Human Resources Tech to oversee, coordinate and administer the integrated human resources activities of an exciting, multi-faceted, growing academic clinical department. This role must possess excellent organizational skills to foster a positive and adaptable team environment while ensuring proper work prioritization, delegation, communication and coordination of needs within the research and academic areas. This is a centralized position critical to the departmental administrative and executive team to provide excellent customer service to faculty, staff and students.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Manage the administration of HR services, to include employment recruitment, hiring, onboarding and compensation actions.
* Provides day-to-day advice, assistance, and follow-up to administration offices, employees, external agencies, and/or members of the public in the application of specified policies, procedures, and documentation.
* Develops, expedites, and maintains files, records, and other employee documents.
* Ensure efficiency, transparency and training on staff and faculty HR actions.
* Serve as Liaison with faculty and staff on University HR topics and issues. This includes maintaining alignment and communication with SOM HR and UNM HR consultants.
* Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, policies and processes, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
* Some Pcard purchases as deemed necessary.

Minimum Qualifications |
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
Preferred Qualifications |
* Knowledge of UNMJobs and requirements for staff and faculty hiring
* Pcard holder or eligible
* Experience scheduling, event planning and managing multiple calendars
* Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Word
* Experience in Banner, HR Reports and EPAFs
* Knowledge of Visa acquisition for hiring
* Ability to prepare documents, research solutions and compose correspondence
* Skills in prioritizing multiple projects, and tracking progress
* Customer service experience
* Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
