Position Summary

The Division of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Preventive Medicine, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a highlymotivated individual to join our dynamic team. The full-time term HS Research Tech 2 will work under direct supervision and instruction from the PI, ClinicalResearch Manager and/or more senior technical staff. The research assistantwill assist with the execution of the study protocol, administrative tasks, technicalsupport and anything else deemed necessary for the successful implementation ofthe study. The research assistant will be responsible for the screening andrecruitment of study participants, conducting the informed consent, eligibilityand baseline interviews as well as overall data collection for the study. Theresearch assistants will be trained to and responsible for inputting data intoREDCap and conducting appropriate data queries. They must be comfortableworking with a diverse patient population including those with opioid use disorderand mental health conditions. This job may require travel between differentclinical sites in the greater Albuquerque metro when it is safe to do so peruniversity Covid-19 guidelines. The ideal candidate for this position issomeone who is organized, efficient, and able to prioritize and manage multipletasks simultaneously. They work well independently and as part of a team.

Conditions of Employment
  • For individual positions in which driving is a job requirement, a valid NM driver's license and valid UNM driver's permit will be required.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Annual TB testing may be required if working in a patient care area.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Self-motivated,organized and can multi-task efficiently.
  • Abilityto communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. The candidate should be proficient in using electronic communication methods (Email, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Abilityto maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Mustbe able to follow both oral and written direction.
  • Computerskills a must, experience using REDCap would be a plus.
  • Bi-lingualin English and Spanish preferred.
  • Experienceworking in a clinical setting, preferably recruiting patients for clinicaltrials.
  • Comfortableworking independently and as part of a team.
Additional Requirements Some travel within the greater Albuquerque area may be required. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transpiration. Mileage will be reimbursed. They should possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable with remote work. This position will eventually require time spent in UNM clinics and the UNM Hospital.
