Position Description
Performs specialized Post Doctoral work in the planning, conducting and/or supervision of original research. Responsible for participating in a research project associated with Ph.D. studies and the interpretation of the results of publication. Work is performed under supervision of graduate faculty members with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Develop and apply statistical and computational methods for analysis of biomedical studies.
  • Keeping accurate records of work undertaken.
  • Carrying out presentations or discussions at team meetings with colleagues.
  • Preparing presentations and delivering them at national and international conferences.
  • Co-authoring original papers for publication in peer-reviewed medical or scientific journals.
  • May guide or direct statistical programmers and assist in their educational and scientific activities.
  • May assist in writing grant proposals.
  • Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.
  • Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEPs values (Service, Respect, Accountability,
    Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Biostatistics or Statistics or a related field.
  • Knowledge of SAS, R, and STATA.
  • Statistical and programming proficiency, as well as good written and oral communication skills.
  • Candidate will perform specialized Post-Doctoral work in the planning, conducting, and/or supervision of original research.
  • Responsibilities include assisting in research grant proposals, participating in research projects associated with biomedical studies and interpretation of the results for publication. Work is performed under supervision of faculty members with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of the project.
  • Provide direct training, guidance and direction to research and student assistants.
