Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.
Summary:
The HUD Program Director will coordinate and monitor the operational activities required for successful compliance with FHA, VA & USDA program guidelines for mortgage servicing. The individual will leverage excellent communication skills, analytical capability, and project management skills to interpret HUD guidelines and implement processes accordingly. The Director will establish and maintain a working relationship with leadership at each of these government entities and facilitate an effective communication channel between SMS and the entity.
Responsibilities:
Identify and outline specific HUD servicing program guidelines for all aspects of default mortgage servicing including Early Intervention, Loss Mitigation, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Claims and Conveyance
Establish dashboard reporting and monitor key SLAs to eliminate operational risk for curtailment, repurchase demand, or enforcement action from FHA, VA & USDA
Collaborate with all departments within the enterprise to determine root causes for any issues identified as a result of monitoring and/or audit findings, develop solutions, design and implement any required remediation activities
Develop effective contact points at FHA, VA & USDA and maintain relationships to enable a positive flow of communication and a feedback loop between SMS and the entity
Create formal results presentation materials and present to Sr. Leadership on a monthly basis
Assist with Audits from these entities as needed
Perform regular review of HUD default reporting and work with analysts to refine for accuracy
Provide HUD process training where needed across the organization to remediate any issues or process errors, and create HUD training curriculum for electronic distribution and use in our corporate training department
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
7+ years mortgage servicing experience with 3-5 years experience managing HUD assets
Project Management experience
Strong attention to detail and an ability to multi-task, manage to deadlines
Ability to work well independently and in a collaborative environment
Strong Excel skills (graphs, pivot tables, formulas)
Prior experience preparing and facilitating high-level client presentations
Educational Requirements:
College or university degree in the field of Business, Finance, Data Analysis, Process Improvement, Project Management, etc. or significant experience in the field
