Job Title: Human Resources Generalist - Colorado Springs, CO. (Hybrid: on site/remote)

The Human Resources Generalist carries out the day-to-day activities including human resource process management, employment, employee relations, including performance management and discipline, employee engagement, compensation and payroll management, benefits administration, organizational development, and training.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as main point of HR contact for all employees and leadership at your assigned site/assigned contracts
  • Conduct new employee orientation sessions, including contract specific policy overview and basic benefits overview
  • Assist operations management with HR policy adherence, coaching, documentation, disciplinary actions up to termination, and other employment actions
  • Conduct investigations regarding HR policy violations and appeals
  • Utilize HRIS including Payroll, Time and Attendance, and E-Verify software to process employment actions and updates
  • Ensure up-to-date maintenance of employee records in accordance with legal requirements and corporate policies (E-Verify/I-9 Form, compliance training, etc.)
  • Keep current with any changes in related federal, state, and local legislation in the respective state(s) of your assigned contracts
  • Serve as a resource to junior HR professionals on the team
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues on internal process improvement
  • May serve as member of interdisciplinary team on organizational process improvement
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as needed

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field;
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency in employee relations (policies, procedures, coaching, and progressive discipline), as well as experience with recruitment, compensation, payroll and benefits administration.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred

Proficiencies

  • Knowledge of employment law, including employee rights, payroll and benefits (unemployment claims, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, etc)
  • Ability to work with Office365 applications and a working knowledge of HRIS including Payroll, Time and Attendance
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Effective oral and written communication, including professional presentation skills
  • Proven critical thinker, employing analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Ability to be meticulous and accurate

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated starting salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is up to $60,000 USD. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
