Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for management of human resources activities for Southwest Network. Provides advice, assistance and follow-up on issues and inquiries related to policies, procedures, and documentation. Acts as a consultant to site leadership on employee relations issues under the supervision of the Chief Human Resource Officer. Responsible for file maintenance and record keeping of employees and contract labor staff. Responsible for FMLA, LOA, and ADAAAA interactive processes and overall benefits administration to include the open enrollment process. Works in conjunction with the risk management department to coordinate Workers Compensation claims from the human resources perspective to include return to work and leave management. Works with the payroll department to ensure smooth and accurate payroll processing. Oversees COBRA administration with vendor. Primary point of contact for unemployment related claims data and responses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION

Manages multiple projects for human resources activities to include employment, labor relations, benefits administration, and training and development for each business unit.

Effectively communicates and administers sound policies, rules and practices that treat employees with dignity and equality while maintaining compliance with employment and labor laws and company directives.

Works with management staff to ensure compliance on human resources-related functions within the organization.

Develops and maintains a rapport with management staff that fosters the free exchange of information and problem solving.

Attends regularly scheduled meetings with management staff to exchange information and provide ongoing support and problem resolution.

Provides management staff with comprehensive reports such as licensure, EEO, COBRA, disability, and unemployment, as required.

Acts as a liaison between field and human resources staff.

Uses feedback from the field to develop and implement human resources guidelines to meet organizational needs and comply with state and federal laws.

Communicates human resources services and programs to employees in a timely manner.

Manages employee relations issues in collaboration Chief Human Resources Officer and functions as primary lead on investigations; advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues to include management of unemployment claims data.

Assists with enforcement of initiatives and procedures such as performance reviews, new hire paperwork, payroll, and other administrative tasks.

Works in partnership with the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll.

Administers benefits, to include new enrollments, qualified life events, and annual open enrollment process.

Manages family medical leave (FMLA) and other leave of absence processes.

Manages employee file maintenance.

Participates in new employee orientation.

Manages reports for compliance related to annual DMV checks, monthly OIG/FACIS search, and updates to FMLA employee list.

May prepare and file external reports as required by law including EEOC, OSHA, COBRA, IRCA, and Department of Labor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience, with knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines and minimum five years direct human resources experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Healthcare credentialing experience preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience.
  • Must maintain a valid Arizona state fingerprint clearance card.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona drivers license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
