JOB SUMMARY
Under basic supervision, perform technical and specialized work in departments/offices with HR units responsible for technical, paraprofessional and professional HR duties. May be assigned to one or more areas of responsibility including recruitment and selection, HRIS and employee records, risk, occupational health, and/or leave management, and other human resource related special assignments. This classification is distinguished from the Human Resources Technician based upon responsibility and decision making authority, and higher-level specialized paraprofessional duties and specialized assignments. Example of Duties
TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Administer functions within assigned area(s) which include but are not limited to: collecting and analyzing statistical data; maintaining specialized databases and reports, inputting and retrieving data, and producing routine and ad hoc computer and/or Excel reports.
- Create, prepare and maintain common departmental and confidential employee records in accordance with requirements of county, state and federal laws, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures.
- Create recruitments, screen applicants, and facilitate selection process.
- Assist employees with payroll, leave, benefits questions or requests.
- Maintain intranet.
- Provide administrative support to department as needed.
- May act in a lead capacity when necessary.
- Provide comprehensive and responsive customer service to employees, management, applicants, and other customers, both internal and external
- Promote and adhere to the workplace values of accountability, commitment, and teamwork to help enrich lives beyond expectation.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records and restricted County information.
- Perform other related duties as required.
POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES :
- Compile and distribute vehicle accident documents to be presented to the Driver Review Board.
- Serve as a back up in reporting property/casualty claims for property/liability lines of coverage and respond to inquiries about county reports and records.
- Maintain learning platform, AED software, records for Federal required annual training.
- Run reports for Division Manager, Safety Manager, Safety Coordinator.
- Coordinates, plans, and organizes department events and trainings by creating sign up sheets, communicating information, locating meeting rooms and coordinating dates and providing onsite support.
- Calendar management and coordinating with Communications.
- Administrative duties including document scanning for record retention.
- Track and maintain records for departmental training, requests for on-site services, leadership training (AWP).
Minimum Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two (2) years of relevant Human Resource experience
- Valid Drivers License with an Arizona Drivers License may be required within 30 days of hire
- Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.

- Knowledge of current human resources practices, methods, and applications
- Knowledge of all pertinent rules, laws, standards, principles, and procedures of the assigned human resource division.
- Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and compositions
- Knowledge of clerical office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of research techniques and report writing.
- Current Microsoft Office Software, including proficiency with Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and other complex programs essential to performing daily activities
- Filing and recordkeeping skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and communicate orally in a face-to-face setting and by telephone with public and employees.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires independent body mobility to stand, bend, and sit for prolonged periods of time and/or drive a vehicle. Manual dexterity to reach, and grasp; manual dexterity to hand write or use computer keyboard; vision sufficient to see/read; hear and speak to communicate with customers in person and over the phone.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office environment.

The hiring salary for this position is dependent upon experience, qualifications and position funding; starting salaries above the first quartile require additional approval.
