Job Description
- Interface with facilities, facilities contractors, vendors for all maintenance and service;
- Perform HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
- Must be able to read and write legibly, have basic math skills, and be able to meet company requirements on electrical test.
- Maintain working knowledge of A/C, electrical, mechanical and construction skill in order to maintain equipment, building and grounds as required.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the complete HVAC system including computer control system.
- Maintain a working knowledge of compressors in order to maintain equipment as necessary.
- Perform preventive maintenance throughout the plant in an effort to keep machines and equipment in excellent condition using all safety rules and regulations that apply.
- Maintain a working knowledge with Parkdale's safety programs; be familiar with MSDS, lockout/tagout, electrical safe working practices, permits and procedures pertaining to all aspects of the job.
- Report any unsafe work practices and/or conditions to management immediately.
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance on air washers, chillers and filtration systems as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned work areas and HVAC areas.
- Provide leadership during normal day to day routine plant maintenance operations.
- Be available when off duty if an emergency arises.
- Be able to assist electricians when needed
- Administer proper lockout/tagout safety procedures.
SUCCESS FACTORS/JOB COMPETENCIES:
Previous forklift experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
High school diploma or GED is required. Trade school and industry certifications are a plus.
Certification and licensing to operate factory machinery is strongly preferred.
Previous experience in factory or warehouse setting is recommended.
Forklift certified.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to learn and perform all scheduled job procedures independently; in order to keep the assigned job functioning at all times.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be physically equipped to maintain an upright, walking position for a twelve (12) hour shifts. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must keep work area and machines clean. Wear required personal protective equipment at all times and adhered to all safety rules and procedures.
