The Identity Access Mgt. (IAM) Manager is accountable for managing the daily workflow of the IAM team that is responsible for safeguarding computer data files and managing systems access. This role provides management, mentoring and training to the IAM team and act as a point of escalation for any access issues.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Participates as a member of the Security department leadership team.
  • Confers with HTLF management, IT leadership, ERM and IA staff, auditors, facilities and other personnel to identify and plan for identity management in software apps and unstructured data.
  • Works with management to develop, communicate and implement security policies and procedures around identity access and file access management.
  • Recommends and coordinates installation of IAM software and other systems security measures.
  • Assigns, documents, and maintains computer login codes, access profiles for enterprise software applications, network access, and telecommunication systems.
  • Reviews computer reports, files, and messages to identify instances of possible security infractions, follows up with users, and reports to management on possible violations of security.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and reports on internal investigations of possible systems security violations.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding data and computer security, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepares responses to all IAM questions and requests from internal and external examiners.
  • Manages the Examiner in-scope apps list; communicates with apps leaders, as necessary.
  • Responsible for lists of application leaders or managers that must complete annual certifications or reviews on key applications or processes. Supervises IAM administrators in completing these tasks.
  • Develops and compiles monthly IAM team metrics.
  • Works closely with the Chief Information Security Officer to modify team workflow and responsibilities, as needed.
  • Offers suggestions and recommendations on new resources and training issues.
  • Supervises updates to Knowledge Base procedures and IAM Standards. Keeps documentation for examiners up-to-date and comprehensive.
  • Establishes alternative security measures, if needed, to support disaster recovery efforts.
  • Serves as a member of the on-call team in disaster or emergency situations and responds to after hour special requests.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the Security Governance documents.
  • Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, attending training, conferences, and/or courses as directed by the supervisor, and obtaining certifications relevant to job duties.
  • Completes annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it relates to the job function.

Management Responsibilities

  • Works with department staff on individual professional development and career development opportunities. Facilitates team members in creating individual goals and development plans that align with the department goals.
  • Works with Heartland Financials Talent Acquisition team to identify and hire the most qualified and talented individuals to fill open positions.
  • Provides information and on-going feedback to department staff regarding expectations and performance, salary adjustments and/or promotions.
  • Addresses and resolves all performance concerns and issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepares and conducts annual performance reviews within established deadlines.
  • Supervises IAM System Administrators and Security Coordinators.
  • Reviews IAM Team schedules to ensure proper coverage.
  • Mentors and trains IAM staff to ensure they stay abreast of procedures and best practices.
  • Works with department management and their staff on individual professional development through 1on1 meetings and team meetings.
  • Contributes to team engagement and a pleasant work environment; Serves as a role model for open communications and suggests areas needing improvement and ideas for change.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Computer and Information Science required or
  • Masters preferred or
  • equivalent years of experience required
  • 5-7 years or related experience in Security, IT or Enterprise Risk fields
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Active Directory
  • Experience with Workflow and Business Intelligence systems
  • Experience managing projects or programs to achieve Information Security objectives.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to make informal presentations inside the organization
