JOB GOAL
To support the delivery of research based best practice lessons that ensure that all students are able demonstrate mastery of the AzCCR Standards and / or goals applicable to their specialized programs in the most efficient and effective manner. To support data driven decisions made through the use of the district's Response to the Pandemic Model - more than one years growth in one years time and the support of site and district level staff.
This job is temporary and at will. It will not be continued after our pandemic response timeframe. This position is for acceleration and pandemic response tutoring. This position will not necessarily be at your current work site during distance learning.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
  • Must have completed at least two (2) years (60 semester hours) of study at an institution of higher education (attach transcript; 100 level coursework and above) or obtained an associates or higher degree
  • Must be highly qualified or obtained a passing score on an ADE-approved assessment (attach score report)

  • Believes ALL Students can and will learn at high levels
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of AzCCR Standards and / or goals applicable to their specialized programs at a variety of grade levels
  • Works or has the ability to work effectively as a collaborative member within and outside of the grade / site level
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand the use of data and assessment to drive focused lessons resulting in high achievement for all students
  • Views self as a learner and demonstrates initiative
  • Demonstrates ability in working with diverse populations (ELL, Special Education, Gifted, Culturally Diverse, SES Levels, Social Emotional Needs)

  • Has knowledge and is competent or willing to become competent in the use of technology and virtual platforms for student support if needed
  • Required to work daily in-person assisting students across multiple grade levels
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
  • Expressed willingness and ability to work outside of school hours and traditional school days (before / after school & / or weekends)
  • Demonstrates knowledge or the ability to gain an understanding of or goals applicable to their specialized programs
  • Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, co-workers, supervisors, parents, and the general public, etc. to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
  • Masters Degree in Social Work
  • Licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a LMSW or LCSW (preferred) or LMSW
  • Experience in a school or urban setting preferred
  • English/Spanish bilingual preferred
  • Possesses a clear understanding of the dynamics of poverty and its impact on children and families
  • Experience in working with students with special needs
  • Experience in working with diverse and multi-cultural populations
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Provides tutorial assistance / support to students while they are engaged in in person instruction / learning.
  • Supports the certified staff member (teacher) in performing needed responsibilities to increase achievement by all students.
  • Collect, record, and share data used to monitor student performance as requested.
  • Monitors and supervises students.
  • Provides basic technical assistance to students with the use of computers if needed.
  • Assists with clean-up and other related tasks following daily activities.
  • Prepares the room for set-up, activities, including organizing assignments.
  • Maintains materials and supplies, contact parents, and may make copies.
  • Attends Professional Development as requested.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
KNOWLEGE AND SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable Cartwright School District and departmental policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Positions in this class typically require: stooping, reaching, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
