Industrial Maintenance Manager/Plant Engineer

SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in the repair, maintenance, and
installation of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems of a manufacturing plant by
performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. The job duties cannot
physically be performed remotely and are required to be performed onsite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of an organizations facilities.
  • Coordinates with all Sunrider affiliates: China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia to ensure that they are using equipment that will be suitable to the job and complies with specifications.
  • Ensures that co-workers have the best physical resources available to complete their duties according to the allotted budget.
  • Reviews job/work orders to determine work priorities.
  • Reviews and schedules repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Coordinates activities of employees fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
  • Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff .
  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
  • Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  • Directs training, and indoctrination of employees to improve work performance and acquaint employees with company policies and procedures.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
  • Confers with employees and other staff to resolve employee grievances.
  • Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
  • Ensures that repairs are adequate to comply with local, State and Federal regulations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the employees of the Maintenance Department and Sanitation Department. Is
responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries
supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and
directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess deep knowledge of engineering and mechanical concepts, have strong time management
and organization skills. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A bachelors degree in engineering field or successful completion of a vocational school; or a
minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.

Compensation: $90K-$110K DOE
