Job Description

Major Responsibilities

  • Basic Technical Support such as MS Windows PC,proprietary software and systems administration & troubleshooting, in addition to global, regional, and implementation of branch projects
  • Network Fundamentals (LAN/WAN)
  • Windows PC troubleshooting, maintenance and deployment
  • Printer and Copier support
  • Remote administration
  • On call for after-hours IS issues
  • Monitor servers and check backups on a daily basis
  • Asset Management such as Purchasing, Shipping, Tracking, Maintenance
  • Responsible for compliance with Expeditors policies and procedures related to IS and conduct regular branch IS Audits
  • Regular communication with Local IS Manager and District Manager
  • Offers suggestions and comments to Local IS Manager for system improvements
  • Support branch disaster recovery efforts as they occur

Operations System Coordination:

  • Develop fundamental understanding and troubleshooting expertise of Expeditors operational systems
  • Helps to increase branch productivity by identifying processes that could be improved or automated and by developing approved solutions
  • Set and modify internal reports
  • MS Windows Automation
  • Implements IS related Projects that do not belong to a specific Product
  • Internal and External EDI Support (i.e. AMS with US customs, EDI with third-party customs authorities, EDI with carriers)
  • Closely liaises operations with Regional IS to assist and support with System related issues

Self Development

  • Meets company standards of 52 hours training per year
  • Strives to improve leadership skills through additional training
  • Closely liaises operations with Regional IS to assist and support with System related issues
