Job Description
Job Title: Information Technology Manager Status: Full Time
Exemption Status: Exempt Salary Grade: 22
Department/Location: SS Peter & Paul Parish / School - Tucson, AZ
Primary Function: Under the direction of the Principal, is responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, cost and timelines. You will supervise the implementation and maintenance of the parish and schools computing needs. The Employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, "Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received." (Eph. 4:1)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recognize and support the unique Catholic Mission of the Diocese by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The employee may not espouse, in word or deed, any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Give evidence of living Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of a personal faith journey; strive to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example.
  • Shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete technology and computer systems.
  • Manage information technology and computer systems.
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes.
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures.
  • Work with outside IT vendors and suppliers.
  • Work with pastor, business manager and principal on annual IT budget and IT capital projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Saints Peter and Paul Duties and Responsibilities
  • Computer Hardware Responsibilities:
    • The IT manager is responsible for maintaining the adequate function and making necessary upgrades of:
      • Three servers
      • Thirty or more Faculty/Staff Windows Desktop Computers
      • 25 or more Faculty/Staff Windows Laptops
      • Thirty or more Computer Lab Chromebook Computers
      • 500 Student Chromebooks
      • Twelve iPads
  • Software Solutions Responsibilities:
    • FACTS School System- The IT manger is responsible for maintaining and running the FACTS System.
    • Active Directory-The IT manger is responsible for creating and maintaining 45 active directory user accounts.
    • Google Apps for Education- The IT manager is responsible for creating and maintaining four hundred sspptucson.org Google accounts.
    • Go Guardian - The IT Manager is responsible for maintaining the Go Guardian subscription for the school. This means making sure that all student devices have the Go Guardian extension running and that teachers have a Go Guardian account and know how to use it to monitor students Internet access.
  • Printer Responsibilities
    • The IT manager is responsible for maintaining the adequate function of 30 network laser printers and three inkjet printers throughout the campus. This includes setting up printers on the print server and ordering and replacing toners.
  • Internet/Network Responsibilities
    • The IT manager is responsible for maintaining the proper functioning of:
      • Router - TP-Link Gigabit Router
      • Barracuda Web Filter 410
      • Main Switches- Six TP Link 24 Gigabit port/2 Gigabit FiberOptic port
      • Secondary Switches- TP-Link POE Switches and Trendnet 24 port Gigabit switch
      • Access Points- Twenty-five Netgear WAC124s
      • Fiber optic cabling between Sever Room and Main Building Wiring Closet
      • Ethernet cabling throughout campus
  • Paid Online Resources Responsibilities
    • McGraw Hill Connect ED- The IT manager responsibilities is to create and maintain about three hundred HMH accounts for teachers and students for both systems.
    • Discovery Education- The IT manager creates and maintains four-hundred student and teacher accounts.
    • RCL Benzinger Flourish Blessed Are WE web resource- The IT manager creates and maintains four-hundred student and teacher accounts.
    • Amplify - The IT manager creates and maintains student and teacher accounts.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • School webpage- The IT manager has access to the sspptucson.org website.
    • Staff webpage- The IT manager maintains the staff.sspptucson.org webpage.
    • Student webpage- The IT manager maintains the student.sspptucson.org webpage.
    • Online Documents- The IT manager creates and maintains various online lists including the Milk List, campus maps, schedules, lists, etc.
    • Irrigation Water Timers- The IT manger maintains the irrigation system timers on campus.
    • Lorax Camera Systems-The IT manager installs and maintains the camera system and reviews recorded footage when an incident occurs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal office environment.
Required Activities: Walking; sitting, standing; stooping; reaching; talking; handling; hearing; carrying; and keyboarding.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must have a working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church; be in full communion with the Church.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, parishioners and the general public.
  • Must be a self-starter; well organized; perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, punctuality is a must at all times; ability to travel locally as required.
  • Proven working experience as IT manger or relevant experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance.
  • Professional bearing; clean and neat personal appearance.
  • Be able to work with volunteers.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background and criminal history check.
Education and Experience:
  • BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field
  • 3-5 years hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
