Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides direct patient care, consultative services, and outpatient services and care of hospitalized patients
  • Participates in teaching activities, including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching, outpatient teaching, and rounds for medical students and/or residents, and continuing medical education
  • Advances clinical knowledge through scholarly and research efforts
  • Performs plastic, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery of the periorbital and facial tissues
  • Provides on-call coverage, as scheduled
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications
  • Board Certification in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology
  • Strong work ethic and good team player
  • Experience in teaching students and residents
  • Experience in conducting research and publishing scientific reports

Required Qualifications
  • M.D / D.O.
  • Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in ophthalmology
  • Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery
  • Texas Medical License or eligible for license in the State of Texas
