Carpenter Co has an opening for 2nd shift Inventory Control Technician at our Riverside, CA manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for maintaining storeroom of all parts and supplies needed in the day to day maintenance and operation of the pouring plant and its operations. This position works in a normal production/maintenance environment with exposure to temperature changes and loud noise.
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will maintain frequent communication with all levels of plant management, supervisors, production employees, vendors, and sales reps. Major challenges of the position involves maintaining proper inventory levels of parts and equipment.
Your additional responsibilities as an Inventory Control Technician will include:
- Receive incoming materials for maintenance department.
- Checks material received to correctness of delivery.
- Delivers material to proper area.
- Identifies, knows location of and handles various kinds and sizes of storeroom items.
- Place received material into proper storage location.
- Maintain inventory records of storeroom items, receipts, usage, lead time, physical count, etc.
- Send packing slips and delivery tickets to designated person.
- Take periodic inventory of storeroom items and parts as a check on record and to determine current status.
- Issue store items to persons having properly authorized store orders.
- Maintains restrooms and break rooms in a clean and sanitary manner.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills and requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience working in an inventory or tools environment required
- Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have 6 months to 1 year of experience
- Must have computer experience have the and ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
- Basic reading, writing and math skills
The Inventory Control Technician hourly rate starts at $22.18 per hour.
