ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION

Provides technical management by identifying problems or issues and delegating to the appropriate personnel.

Performs quality management by auditing and reviewing implemented processes for their effectiveness.

Works with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for the implementation of new technology.

Manages the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of the I.T. infrastructure environment, including but not limited to servers, desktops/laptops, LAN/WAN, phones, hardware, software, and peripherals

Maintains and monitors the I.T. infrastructure environment to ensure minimal interruption and maximum productivity.

Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the I.T. infrastructure and I.T. systems.

Provides technical support and guidance to both internal and external users, including third-party partners.

Leads high complexity projects and teams to successful completion.

Stays current with the latest technologies and directs research on potential technology solutions.

Identifies and recommends alternative methods and technologies to meet business needs.

Maintains asset management for I.T. hardware, software, and other equipment and maintains inventory as needed to ensure proper hardware/software licensing, maintenance, and support.

Develops and maintains operational technical documentation including, but not limited to I.T. systems and administration, security, network configurations, and internal/external support.

Participates in and/or leads the negotiation and administration of vendor and outsourcing contracts and/or maintenance and service agreements.

Assists in managing the financial aspects of the I.T. department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.

Participates in the development of a comprehensive I.T. disaster recovery plan to ensure business continuity/survival, minimize damage, and facilitate coordination.

Retains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees, maintaining a safe and secure work environment, and providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Cross trains staff in current knowledge and skills to ensure necessary coverage and support at all times.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Participates in and provides input to the strategic direction of the I.T. department to ensure alignment with business objectives and future growth.

Assists in developing, maintaining, and supporting I.T. policies, procedures, and best practices that ensure compliance with HIPAA as well as architecture security, change management, and audit recommendations.

Participates in various committee, department, and individual meetings, serving as a lead contact between the I.T. department and other departments regarding their software development needs.

Follows policies and procedures and adheres to the requirements of the Corporate Compliance Program.

Ensures confidentiality of verbal and written information in accordance with HIPAA standards and Southwest Network policy, and adheres to the legal, ethical and professional guidelines adopted by Southwest Network.

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION

Requires a bachelors degree in computer science, information systems or related technical field; equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience considered in lieu of a degree. Health care experience preferred.

Cisco, VMware, and/or network administration certifications a plus.

Ten (10) or more years experience in systems and network administration or related field, with knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures related to P.C., server, and network technical support.

Strong technical knowledge of current LAN/WAN hardware, protocols, and standards and proven experience in I.T. infrastructure planning and development..

Previous experience managing a technical team.

Must maintain a valid Arizona state fingerprint clearance card.

Must have and maintain a valid Arizona drivers license.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must be able to read and interpret documents and a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Must be able to maintain excellent employee relationships and provide excellent customer service.

Must be competent in the use of electronic medical records software, computer, printer, copier, and telephone. Preferred typing skills of 25 to 40 WPM. Occasional use of fax server, security systems, and other office equipment.

Must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Visio, Outlook, Word and Excel.

WORKING CONDITIONS and DRIVING

Travel between Southwest Network sites required. Must have a registered and reliable vehicle that meets Arizona state law standards and meet the insurance standards of Southwest Network.

Work is performed in an office setting; must be able to move about; occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time and position self to reach items under or above desks, in storage, or in areas not easily accessible; some lifting also required.

Must be available to provide support during various times of the day as required.

Evening or weekend hours required on an as-needed basis.
