Job Description

General Description of Duties: Provides direct training and support to clients working at Supported Employment community-based sites. Responsible for keeping all required documentation for the individuals progress and implementation of training and fading plans as well as participating in the Individualized Service Plan. May include carrying out personal care duties. This is a hands-on position with persons with developmental disabilities. Must be able to work independently, in often unfamiliar settings.

Education and Experience: High School Diploma (or equivalent) required with post high school or college preferred. Experience working with developmental disability population preferred. Must complete specific certifications (from our training department) and maintain those certifications throughout employment. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with internal and external customers of Adelante. Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors and co-workers.

Other Requirements: Must pass background/fingerprint investigation and pre-employment drug screening. Must have own reliable transportation, valid NM drivers license, insurable driving record and proof of current liability insurance. Must have effective verbal communication and writing skills. Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift as well as support 70-100 lbs. occasionally. Adelante is a drug free workplace.
