How this role supports our mission:

Candidate will primarily function as a Store Associate which may become a pathway to earning a Job Coach position. As a Store Associate you will receive training in all entry level positions within the store operation. Areas include customer service, cashiering, assisting with donors, pricing merchandise, transporting priced goods to the retail floor, rotating old merchandise off the sales floor, and housekeeping. You will be given the opportunity to learn as many different tasks as possible to demonstrate ability to achieve job knowledge, skill, and proficiencies. The Job Coach provides direct support services to adults with developmental disabilities working through the Group Supported Employee (GSE) program to ensure high production standards for quality and quantity of output. This role provides individual support and encouragement to Program Participants to help them improve their job skills and move to less restrictive work environments. The Job Coach carries out the goals and objectives for each Program Participant, as determined by the Rehabilitation Manager while providing support in companys rehabilitation process.

Responsible for fulfilling the job requirements of the Store Associate position

Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds, stand for long periods of time, and bend, reach, and stretch repeatedly during a shift.

Ability to read, write, and speak English; follow written and verbal instruction. English/Spanish bilingual a plus.

Provide customer service skills that are patient, friendly, kind, and polite, while working in a busy retail operation.

Be an excellent team member who willingly helps others, learns new tasks, uses tools, and resources appropriately, and behaves safely.

Basic math aptitude.

Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision and be flexible to adapt to changing priorities and environments.

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends) and adapt to changing priorities and environment.

Willingness to travel to and from off-site meetings/trainings and transfer to other departments, as requested and transfer to other stores as requested.

Communicate in an honest, polite, and well-intentioned manner.

Provide training and model appropriate behaviors for Program Participants that are patient, friendly, kind, and polite, while working in the retail environment.

Monitor and accurately documents individual Program Participant performance, time studies, daily time cards, progress notes, case notes, pre-teaming, monthly checklists, and handbook/participant rights reviews.

Understand and implement the Program Participants Individual Written Rehabilitation Plan (IWRP) from the interdisciplinary team to achieve goals and objectives.

Understand and maintain CARF compliance standards, as applicable.

Must have 6 months experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or 6 months of Goodwill store retail experience.

Ability to read, write, and speak English; follow written and verbal instruction. English/Spanish bilingual a plus.

Must possess or be able to obtain: Level I Fingerprint card, Article IX, Prevention and Support, Certified Monitor training, and CPR/First Aid trainings.

When driving a motor vehicle for any work related commitments, must have a valid Arizona driver license and auto insurance, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.
