Job Description

General Description of Duties: Work with business community to develop and implement job development strategies to secure community-based employment appropriate for the participants. Assists clients with job development services including, but not limited to marketing, job lead notifications, resumes, and cover letters for the purpose of obtaining employment. Coaches participants on appropriate interviewing techniques, work attire and attitude for the purpose of ensuring success in job placement. Builds positive relationships with key management, supervisory and co-worker personnel at employment sites to promote normalized integration of the client into the business company environment. Monitor and troubleshoot participants to minimize problems with job placement and ensure a successful job experience. Develops and maximizes utilization of natural supports in the work place.

Education and Experience: High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. Two years job related experience in job development, job services or staffing services strongly preferred. One (1) year experience training individuals with disabilities preferred. Experience working with disabled population preferred. Must have experience working with various software (Microsoft Office-Word, Excel etc.). English Language reading, writing, and verbal communication skills are required in order to perform the essential functions of the position. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors and co-workers. Must have the ability to work effectively with business people at all levels as well as excellent communication skills between the employer and the participant.

Other Requirements: Must pass background/fingerprint investigation, TB test and pre-employment drug screening. Must possess a valid NM drivers license, proof of auto liability insurance, have own reliable transportation and an agency insurable driving record. Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, reach above shoulder(s), and kneel frequently. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, crouch, balance, push/pull, and carry occasionally. Must be able to meet any requirement to do the job that the clients are being trained to perform. Physical requirements may vary depending on the job assignment. Must be able to sit, and perform computer tasks continuously as required to perform the essential duties of position. Must be able to work outside normal work schedule (i.e. evenings, weekends, etc.) as required. Adelante is a drug free workplace.
