Job Description

Program services will be based on SAMHSA Supported Employment/Evidence Based Model including the following: All individuals with a serious mental illness who want to work are eligible for help and no one is excluded for reasons such as symptoms, substance use, lack of work history, grooming or hygiene or non-adherence to mental health treatment. Individual preferences are key to employment services provided (personal interests, location, schedule, disclosure, support and accommodations)* Rapid job search. The career counselor makes contact with employers in the community within the first few appointments with an on behalf of the member. Assist members with seeking competitive work in the community with minimum wage or higher. Working collaboratively with clinical mental health teams at least weekly to plan and coordinate services for the individual. Unlimited support is provided to help with problem solving, job coaching, coordination with employer and supporting job changes or promotions. Personalized benefits planning including DB101 to help individuals understand how working impacts their benefits (i.e. SSI, SSDI, Title benefits, AHCCCS, etc.)High School Diploma and four years of full time behavioral health or social services experience, or Associates degree and at least two years of full time behavioral health or social services experience, or Bachelors degree in any field and at least one year of full time behavioral health or social services experience, or Masters degree or bachelors degree in a field related to behavioral health, education, counseling or social work.Proficient with Microsoft Office. Exceptional organizational and time management skills a must. Sales or business background is a plus. Experience working in vocational/career counseling services or rehabilitation setting preferred. Experience working with ex-offenders, and people with physical, emotional, sensory and cognitive disabilities preferred
