Lab Technician - Smoke Lab

• Perform preparation of samples for testing by operating linear smoke machines
• Perform sample preparation on tobacco products using wet chemistry techniques; provides support to analytical chemists
• Operate simple lab equipment
• Accurately document results in notebooks and LIMS, in compliance with good documentation practices
• Perform instrument calibration, and recognize errors
• Adhere to highest quality standards; ensure compliance with quality system requirements
• Communicate effectively with client staff members and co-workers

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors of Science Degree - 4 year degree in a science-related field preferred.
• Linear Smoke Machine Operation
• At least one year related laboratory or quality control experience; familiarity with standard lab concepts, practices, and procedures
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Position is full-time, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Richmond, VA are encouraged to apply.
