POSITION SUMMARY:
- Under the direct supervision of the Unit Director and Clinical Manager, the Lactation Consultant provides Lactation Education and support to new mothers, infants and the community through Breastfeeding Classes, Daily Rounding, and one-to-one Lactation Services. The Lactation Consultant develops and implements the Breastfeeding Program including Staff Education and Community Outreach and participates in Performance Improvement activities within the department.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/License/Certification:
- Must be an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current BLS card Required
Experience/Skills:
- Must have one (1) year of experience in lactation consulting.
