Job Description Summary

As an Land Superintendent working for Taylor Morrison you will coordinate with consultants, contractors, utility companies and governmental agencies on permitting, plats and bond submittal/release and completion of punch-list. You will assist in the bidding process for land development with the VP of Land and work through development requirements for Land Planning, Zoning, and Engineering.

We trust that as an Land Superintendent you will: (responsibilities)

  • Assist in managing day-to-day development activities by scheduling and coordinating appropriate vendors / contractors to meet project schedule
  • Assist Land Development Manager in providing direction to trades on conflicts to achieve resolution
  • Forecast and communicate potential schedule or budget deviations
  • Assist in maintaining land development construction schedules
  • Adhere to land development construction budgets
  • Inspect improvements to ensure compliance with project documents
  • Assist in managing issues relating to city/county Planning, Public works, Engineering and Building departments; insure adherence to all Conditions of Approval
  • Assist in facilitating conveyance of common areas to community associations and public infrastructure to the appropriate agencies

About you:

  • Bachelors degree in Construction, Engineering or other related field preferred
  • Experience as field supervisor with a high-volume homebuilder or large construction company
  • Highly customer-service oriented Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents including plans (civil improvement, utility, landscape and irrigation), specifications and scopes of work
  • Must be highly organized, able to handle multiple tasks and projects at once, and adept at managing ones time efficiently Proficient with MS Office and working knowledge of MS Project

FLSA Status: Exempt

Will have responsibilities such as:

  • Office or non-manual work, which is directly related to management or general business operations
  • Act as a primary component of which involves the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance

  • Report to Division/Corporate Office/Community daily and adhere to schedule
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device
  • Ability to have face to face conversations with customers, co-workers and higher level manager
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and move around work environment as needed
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle if applicable
  • Comply with company policies and procedure

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

*Taylor Morrison experience and/or successful completion of training program may override required education and/or experience requirement.
