Position Description
Performs specialized analytical duties in the operation and maintenance of assigned area. Responsibilities include collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to area, making recommendations and assisting in implementation of projects. Work is performed under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides feedback to clinical departments when quality of care metrics are not met.
  • Conducts routine audits of electronic medical records for HEDIS data extraction.
  • Prepares preliminary interpretation of data analysis to track trends in clinical treatments and outcomes.
  • Extracts data from electronic medical records for analysis and interpretation.
  • Compiles outcomes report on HEDIS measures and compliance with HEDIS recommendations.
  • Builds and maintains reports synthesizing analytical results and outlining identified trends.
  • Works with the VP of Clinical Administration, Senior Director - Project Management, Chief Analyst, and clinical departments to identify key issues.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years data analyst related work experience in a medical/clinical environment
  • Experience in programming and data integration using tools such as SQL, SAS, R or Phython
  • Present quality measure performance to stakeholders, identify trends and areas of improvement
  • HIPAA, PHI and PII laws and regulations due to the handling of Healthcare data
  • Present quality measure performance to stakeholders, identify trends and areas of improvement
  • Experience in analyzing data, understanding data trends and working knowledge of quality measures or KPI
  • Data visualization and report generator tools such as Tableau
  • Experience with audit response to quality measure achievement reports

Occasional Duties
  • Conducts routine analysis of electronic medical records to identify deficiencies in documentation in accordance with TTUHSC policies and other regulatory requirements.
  • Meets with Senior Director - Project Management to discuss compliance standards and audit outcomes.
  • Documents and maintains audit records and logs.
  • Coordinates new and/or on-going training with clinical departments on proper intervention documentation requirements.
  • Acts as an internal resource assisting with complex analytical projects and supporting other clinical areas with analysis and recommendations as necessary.
