Aetna Analytics & Behavior Change (ABC) mandate is to transform health and wellness through data analytics & machine learning products that enable consumer engagement and a best-in-class experience. This team is responsible for building data products, involving real time ingestion frameworks, data pipelines to process large volumes of poly structure data, and model deployment; as well as the envisioning strategic data roadmap and execution of the roadmap. A key part of this team is to build an integrated data platform and supporting products to drive engagement and revolutionize health and wellness.
Aetna ABC is looking for an Analytics Consultant to join our team in Hartford, CT or New York City, NY.
Fundamental Components & Physical Requirements include but are not limited to (* denotes essential functions)
* Understand overall business strategy and translate / guide engineering teams for successful program delivery
* Experience in solving business and analytical problems of high complexity and risk. Ability to structure and organize by tasks for various functions (engineering, analytics, business etc.)
* Proven experience in handling programs involving multiple stakeholders. Articulating, negotiating and documenting the needed work effort
* Collaborates with business partners to understand their problems and goals, manages program delivery, data reports, performance metrics and program updates
* Plan and prioritize tasks and work with various stakeholder to mitigate anticipated risks/issues in delivery
* Need understanding in software engineering concepts, latest technology acumen and ability to design secure, effective & scalable solutions. Explores, examines and interprets large volumes of data in various forms
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently on storyboarding and presentations to various partners including senior & executive team members
* Proven experience in conducting / leading meetings to streamline the work tasks
* Ability to structure data analysis, driving analytics insights and engineering solutions to help determine the best analytical/engineering solution.
* Mentors, reviews design & problem solutions of more junior team members
* Consults on the creation of engineering solutions that effectively weigh business and technical tradeoffs using an advanced understanding of business strategy as well as relevant big data environment topics.
Required Qualifications
* Healthcare sector experience preferred
* Demonstrates proficiency in most areas of mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, statistical analyses, and predictive modeling and in-depth specialization in some areas.
* Strong knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages to analyze large data sets from multiple data sources.
* Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before they occur.
* Demonstrates strong ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to business partners.
Preferred Qualifications
* Minimum 7 years total business experience (program & client management)
* 4 years experience strategy consulting or on strategy teams in large companies 1
* 4 years of business experience leading analyses and initiatives with track record of business impact.
Education
Bachelor degree in quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience. Master's degree in quantitative field or MBA strongly preferred.
