CPLC Corazón is a client-centered, multicultural center with bilingual staff offering a variety of treatment modalities. We have provided Substance Abuse treatment through our CARF Accredited Level II Residential Treatment Center since 1983. The 30- to 60-day structured treatment program incorporates best practices targeted to the clients enrolled.

Position Overview: We seek a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Registered Nurse to join our substance abuse treatment center. As the Lead Registered Nurse, you will be pivotal in providing exceptional healthcare services and overseeing the nursing staff. Your expertise will be critical in delivering comprehensive care to individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders, ensuring their safety, comfort, and progress toward recovery

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree from an accredited nursing program. A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related field is preferred.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Additional certifications in substance abuse or psychiatric nursing are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, focusing on substance abuse treatment, addiction recovery, or psychiatric nursing. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of substance abuse disorders, addiction, withdrawal symptoms, evidence-based treatment modalities, and mental health considerations in the context of substance abuse.
  • Clinical Skills: Proficiency in health assessments, medication administration, crisis intervention, and patient education. Ability to handle complex clinical situations with empathy and sound judgment.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate the nursing staff, promote teamwork, and maintain a positive work culture.
  • Emotional Resilience: Demonstrated ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations while providing compassionate care to individuals with substance abuse disorders.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations, confidentiality laws, and ethical standards governing substance abuse treatment and nursing practice.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, ensures continuous nursing coverage within the treatment center.

Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Leadership: Provide expert clinical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients, ensuring their unique needs, medical conditions, and substance abuse history are considered.
  • Medication Management: Administer medications and monitor their effects, closely observing patients for any adverse reactions or changes in condition. Ensure accurate documentation of medication administration.
  • Health Assessments: Perform thorough health assessments, including physical and mental health evaluations, to identify any underlying medical conditions, substance abuse-related complications, or co-occurring disorders.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about substance abuse, addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention. Guide medication management, self-care techniques, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to emergencies and crises promptly and effectively, utilizing appropriate interventions and coordinating with the treatment team as needed.
  • Treatment Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration among the treatment team, including physicians, therapists, counselors, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure cohesive patient care.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities, such as audits, performance improvement initiatives, and compliance with regulatory guidelines, to enhance the overall quality of care.
  • Staff Development: Provide ongoing training, supervision, and professional development opportunities to nursing staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
