Shift: 40hrs day shift Monday-Friday Full-time benefit eligible

Position Summary: Trains new staff and collaborates with Department Director on annual performance appraisals and corrective counseling. In collaboration with the Case Manager, assists patients and families in adjusting to episodes of acute and chronic illness; in coping with lifestyle changes precipitated by illness or disability; in participating in restorative health programs; in carrying out discharge recommendations; and in addressing issues of terminality. Using a variety of treatment modalities, assists patients and families in the alleviation or resolution of social, financial and emotional problems related to illness, healthcare and rehabilitation.

  • Required Knowledge & Skills: Excellent assessment, diagnostic and crisis intervention skills.
  • Evidence of professional development. Experience in medical social work preferred.
  • Education: Masters in Social Work
  • Experience: Five years experience in the clinical setting.
  • Certification/Licensure: Current Licensure in Massachusetts as Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
  • Software/Hardware: Meditech
