Our client is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Alexandria area.
HOURLY RATE
* $28-$32 depending on a Contractor's experience, education, availability, and skills.
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Conduct initial health assessment by physical examination and obtain medical history from all detention home and Sheltercare clients within 5 days of admission.
* Maintain all health records on children according to State Standards.
* Provide medication and perform treatment recommended by detention home doctor, family physician, or other doctors treating children.
* Perform first aid measures for simple injuries and illnesses.
* Provide health and personal hygiene education to detention home residents in relation to issues pertinent to adolescent growth and development.
* Administer and supervise the dispensing of all prescription and over the counter medication. Develop and implement procedures in this area. Check living unit medication logs to ensure that detainees are receiving proper medication and dosage at correct times.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
* Must have an Associates Degree and a current nursing license with is required by Virginia State Law.
* One year of experience working with adolescent patients or any equivalent combination experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
