Summary:

Working directly with the physician, as the liaison between the patient and the physicians for establishing and maintaining quality patient care. Utilizes clinical teamwork to oversee the interdisciplinary plan of care; assesses the patient as appropriate and facilitates its delivery to patients, evaluates the process and outcome of clinical services in the practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Triages clinical phone calls and coordinates follow-up with the doctor.
  • Placing patients in exam room and conducting full in-take: vital signs, weight, 02 saturation, medication reconciliation, etc.
  • Entering prescription requests into the electronic medical record for provider approval
  • Making follow-up phone calls to patients to provide test results (labs/ radiology, etc.)
  • Prior authorizations
  • Assisting physician with the completion of forms
    May administer non-reconstituted aerosolized medications via nebulizer
  • Administers IM vaccines
  • Perform EKGs
  • Clear, accurate documentation in patients medical record
  • Trained and currently certified in basic CPR
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of accredited License Practical Nursing program required.
  • Current Massachusetts LPN license required.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records (eCW is a plus)
