Maintenance Coordinator - Camp Oakes

Job Description

Position Summary:

Coordinates and is responsible for ongoing maintenance, preventative maintenance, maintenance systems, property and asset protection, and major repairs.

Essential Functions:

  1. Conduct facility and equipment inspections and identify maintenance and housekeeping needs, and report findings to supervisor for plan of action
  2. Manages daily maintenance requests and ensures work is done in a timely manner
  3. Regularly performs maintenance tasks, equipment repair, and facility repairs that may include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, small engine repair, automotive, HVAC, and equipment repair
  4. Tracks maintenance and custodial supplies for facilities and anticipates needs to ensure materials and supplies are on hand
  5. Supports custodial and program staff as needed, ensuring camp is sanitary, clean and meets guest expectations
  6. Collaborates with maintenance director and other department directors on developing preventative maintenance plan
  7. Inspect vehicles for safety and cleanliness on a regular basis
  8. Implements inventory control, preventative maintenance, and other programs
  9. Ensure protection and proper care of assets
  10. Follow and enforce safety and risk standards, other policies and procedures including but not limited to the Safety Data Information book
  11. Follow camp and Association policies and procedures for health and safety
  12. Attends all staff meetings, trainings and other YMCA functions as required by Supervisor
  13. Maintain open lines of communication with participants, staff and supervisor
  14. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  1. Education & Certifications:
    • Must be 21 years of age
    • First Aid and CPR certification required
    • Must have a current drivers license meet YMCA insurance requirements to operate Y vehicles
    • Associates degree in Facilities Management or related field
    • Additional experience may offset some of the educational requirement
  2. Additional Requirements: Criminal Clearance: Including Fingerprints and background clearance, TB Test, and health screening
  3. Experience & Background:
    • 10+ years of maintenance and facilities experience.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft, Excel, Word and Outlook, use of office machines, and organizational skills required.
    • 3 years of experience in a supervisory role required.
  4. Complete all required pre-employment online training(s).

Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor facilities (schools, parks, camps, and recreational sites); exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Noise level is usually moderate.
