Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a reliable, skilled maintenance worker to perform essential upkeep tasks throughout our facility. In this position, you will be responsible for a wide variety of activities such as repairs to ensure that our facilities are functional.

  • Install necessary appliances and equipment as needed
  • Complete regular maintenance tasks.
  • Install and repair plumbing apparatus
  • Clean, maintain, and service building equipment and tools
  • Keeps equipment, systems, and building ready for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules
  • Maintain alarm and fire protection devices.
  • Alters or repairs building floors, roof, walls and related structures
  • Maintains continuity between shifts by documenting maintenance actions and Maintain documentation of work completed, materials used and time spent.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to facility and life safety standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.
  • Maintains tools, parts and equipment inventory by checking stock
  • Plans and completes work assignments in accordance with blueprints, diagrams, specifications, oral and written instructions and in accordance with the standard procedures and safety precautions of the trade.
  • Utilize a variety of maintenance and grounds keeping equipment and mechanical hand and power tools in performing work assignments.
    • Clean, maintain and service facility grounds and irrigation systems.
  • Contributes to building success by welcoming related, different, and new requests and helping others accomplish job results.
  • Job responsibilities will change based on weather. On-call responsibilities and reporting to work will be required in the event of an emergency.

Knowledge of:

  • Materials, techniques, practices and procedures of general maintenance and construction tasks to include carpentry, electrical, heating and air conditioning, plumbing, locksmith, grounds keeping, and construction and renovation of buildings and facilities and property. Fire alarm, fire sprinkler systems and fire suppression systems.
  • The use and care of a variety of maintenance, construction, grounds keeping equipment, mechanical hand and power tools.
  • The occupational hazards and safety requirements of maintenance, construction, grounds keeping and related trades.
  • Local building codes as they relate to construction and renovation of facilities.
  • Facility policies and procedures.
  • Laws, codes, regulations and directives used in buildings and grounds administration.
  • Facility policies and procedures.

Skill in:

  • The maintenance, construction, installation and repair of building structures and related furnishing, and grounds keeping work assignments, including layout and estimation and selection of materials.
  • Safe, effective operation and maintenance of hand and power tools and equipment used in maintenance, construction, grounds keeping and related trades.

Ability to:

  • Perform work accurately and in accordance with established standards from blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and oral and written instructions.
  • Safely and effectively service, maintain and repair assigned tools and equipment in accordance with standard repair, maintenance, operation and safety procedures.
  • Estimate material quantities and labor hours required to perform work assignments.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date chronological records and documentation.
  • Interpret and apply established guidelines and procedures as provided in trade manuals, building codes and related documentation.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associate personnel, personnel in other department and general public.
  • Comply with facility policies and procedures.

Physical Demands

  • Constant: standing and walking, lifting, carrying 75-100 lbs., stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing & repetitive motions.
  • Frequent: pushing, pulling, climbing, crawling, and eye/hand/foot coordination
  • Occasional: sitting and balancing
  • Work is subject to call-back or on call status and irregular schedules to include completion of work assignment on weekends and/or holidays.

Job Requirements:

  • Provide a valid Driver's license & clean MVD record
  • Obtain/maintain Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Card at employees expense.
  • Complete annual Tuberculosis testing
  • Obtain COVID-19 vaccine or exemption
  • Mandated federal, state, and local communicable disease testing as required.
