Position Summary:

Performs various maintenance functions, including maintenance of the hospital, grounds and all hospital properties. All other duties as assigned as department demands.

Position Qualification: (Training, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities)

Performs general maintenance and construction functions such as plunge toilets, adjusting thermostats, replacing light bulbs, paints, drywall, etc. Greases, oils, wipes, filter changes, belt changes, sewer cleaning, roof repair, caulking, bearings and making repairs. Maintains interior and exterior lighting. Informs supervisors of any problems. Fills out and completes all assigned work orders in a timely manner. Maintains preventive maintenance of equipment. Provides cost estimate of material used or needed for repair. Responds to radio calls in adequate time frame. Completes requisitions of materials needed for repair. Assists co-workers, if needed to accomplish job task when supervisor approved. Must be able to report to work in the event of a disaster. Communicate with hospital personnel to inform them of the repair and the status of repairs taking place in their area. Performs job duties in accordance with standards set forth by ACHA and JACHO, if applicable. Must be able to lift and carry products and/or equipment of up to 50 lbs. Must be able to use basic tools and specialized tools as appropriate. High school graduate or equivalent.
