LOCATION: Herberger Center – Phoenix, Arizona

STATUS: FTE/40 hours/wk

The Salvation Army in Phoenix AZ is looking to fill a Maintenance Tech position. The successful candidate for this position will have previous maintenance experience, an ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances and computer literate in MS Office software. The Maintenance Tech will repair and maintain facilities in excellent condition at all times in a timely manner. This position will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems to maintain peak performance. This person will maintain accurate files and records of all property project, and assist in keeping records of non-Salvation Army inspections, licenses and other official documents. This person will assist with vehicle fleet as assigned and other off site maintenance, and assist the Emergency Services department.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 3 years maintenance experience
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, with ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances
  • Able to maintain a non-judgement attitude, professional approach and boundaries with clients, vendors & staff
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of:
  • Electrical wiring
  • Plumbing
  • HVAC
  • General maintenance upkeep & repair   
  • Computer literate in MS Office software
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Current Arizona Drivers License with clean driving record
  • Must be forklift certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to pass The Salvation Army’s Fleet Safety e-learning
