Maintenance Tech I

$1,250 Hiring Bonus

General Description of Duties:

• Maintenance technicians will work independently and with other personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks.
• They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintenance technicians will perform minor to moderately complex repairs and maintain physical structures such as buildings, residential homes using hand tools and power tools.
• Additionally, perform general landscaping and janitorial duties.
• Rotate "on-call" responsibilities regularly.
• The work location may vary as needed.
• Work is evaluated primarily through results obtained and on-the-job inspections.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Two years general maintenance experience and one-year experience driving oversized trucks/vans required.
• Post high school training or certification in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry a plus.
• Advanced training in building maintenance preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English with internal and external customers of Adelante.
• Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures.
• Ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors, and co-workers.

Other Requirements: Must pass background/fingerprint investigation, pre-employment drug screening and TB test. Must have own reliable transportation, valid NM drivers license, insurable driving record and proof of current liability insurance. Must be able to perform hard physical labor (i.e., moving furniture, construction materials, remodeling etc.) for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 80 lbs., crawl, climb 30 ft., crouch, kneel, and walk frequently. Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulders, balance push/pull, carry frequently. Pay from: $15.50 per hour DOE.
