Job Description

The Manager, Accounting is responsible for the analysis and review of Fixed Asset, Franchise and Accounts Receivable activities and supporting all internal and external reporting needs in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position requires adherence to tight deadlines and involves a variety of accounting activities including general ledger accounting, financial analyses, and internal and external audit preparation.

This role is based in our Tampa Restaurant Support Center, but the individual would onboard and train remotely until the office re-opens, expected to be in January 2022.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manages monthly accounting close process for franchise, accounts receivable and fixed asset areas to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information
  • Actively partners with Finance, Development, IT, Legal, Training and Operations to ensure alignment with budgeted capex spend as well as support of company initiatives that have an impact on accounts receivable and/or franchise accounting
  • Drives process improvement by identifying and developing more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Reviews complex reconciliations, rollforwards, and analyses, compliant with US GAAP and internal controls
  • Assists in development and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures
  • Reviews significant contracts and complex transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP
  • Directs, coordinates, and reviews the work performed by accounting staff
  • Reviews and coordinates audit requests with both internal and external auditors
  • Maintains an effective control environment in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Prepares budget forecast for various franchise and asset related P&L accounts
  • Fosters personnel training/development to ensure cross-training, continuity planning, and growth opportunities for team members within BBI
  • Effectively communicates across levels and functions of the organization
  • Uses professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve complex accounting issues
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Ad hoc requests and projects, as necessary.


REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Bachelors in Accounting required

CPA preferred


Experience/Skills:

  • 5+ years of related accounting experience required
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Ability to supervise, direct, and coordinate the work of staff
  • High-level analytical skills with exceptional follow-up and sense of urgency
  • Possesses strong problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, and manage multiple priorities and solve routine problems without supervisory approval
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Highly self-motivated, action-oriented and willing to challenge status quo
