The College of Integrative Sciences and Arts is looking for an experienced leader to drive our Data Management Team and collaborate with administration. In this role, you’ll provide guidance, management, and strategic direction for the team, empowering them to deliver impactful data analysis and reporting. You’ll play a key role in supporting business decision-making, strategic planning, and process improvement using a variety of analytical methods and techniques. This position offers flexibility to be either hybrid or fully remote.

Essential Duties

  • Performs complex and advanced research analysis techniques, to understand current performance, analyze trends, and to make recommendations for future project performances.
  • Develops metrics for data analysis to be used for business decision-making, planning, and process improvement.
  • Provides oversight of staff including coordination of activities, and coaching staff to build skills in interpreting and reporting data analysis results to ensure adherence with stated outcome, timeframes and standards.
  • Securely collects, cleanses, standardizes, transforms and stores data from various sources ensuring data integrity.
  • Directs the collection of nationally trending data, aids with APR data collections.
  • Uses predictive modeling, statistics, trend analysis and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, and identify the right data to be analyzed from internal and external sources.
  • Ability to identify appropriate data sources and extract and manipulate data by designing, refining, and running complex data queries.
  • Responsible for regularly auditing data input.
  • Prepares or coordinates preparation of reports; analyzes and interprets statistics, financial data, and management planning data for predicting resource needs and developing long range plans.
  • Stay abreast of trends and developments in data management to support efficient and effective use of the latest tools and ensure organizational compliance. 
  • Prepares presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Represents the college and serves on various college and university committees.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices pertaining to the assigned department.
  • Knowledge of administrative, financial, and business management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of analysis techniques and reporting strategies.
  • Knowledge of computing and data analysis.
  • Skill in quantitative data analysis and interpretation.
  • Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations.

  • Ability to accurately and reliably interpret data for determining appropriate action.

  • Ability to lead by example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of the institution’s sustainability programs.
  • Skill in problem solving with the ability to apply critical and logical analysis to business scenarios.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five (5) years of related administrative/data analysis experience which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience, OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of analysis techniques and reporting strategies.
  • Experience in engaging in problem/issue identification, review, and verification to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Experience in using database query tools, SQL development, and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to identify appropriate data sources and extract and manipulate data by designing, refining, and running complex data queries.
  • Experience in quantitative data analysis and interpretation; ability to collect, organize, synthesize and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills, mentoring and coaching.
  • Experience in planning, analyzing, and coordinating activities and establishing priorities.
  • Experience in working effectively in an environment subject to changing and potentially conflicting priorities.


Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
