Job Description

The Manager, Marketing Research works under the direction of the Senior Manager, Marketing Research in the Enterprise Marketing Hub as a part of the Brand and Performance Marketing Strategy team. The Manager, Marketing Research will consult with assigned internal and external business partners to understand marketing goals and objectives and work collaboratively with external vendors to obtain a Scope of Work that delivers on the objectives. They will also play a key oversight role with the external partners to deliver the projects to successful completion. The Manager, Marketing Research is an orchestrator who understands how to match community needs with enterprise and external resources. A key component to this role will be learning about the expertise of those in the Hub and partners, along with the tools employed by the Hub and their best use.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need excellent presentation skills, written and verbal communication skills; able to make complex subject matter simple for non-technical audiences to inform and inspire, and ability to manage a project from inception to completion, delivering and tracking key milestones along the way. A thorough attention to detail and organizational skills are also required. The ideal candidate will be focused on finding common ground and solutions to complex challenges.

Salary Range

$45,500 - $60,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

Works with business partners to understand goals/objectives and business challenges that need to be addressed

Identifies general methods needed to inform business questions and leverages internal/external subject matter experts to execute specified projects.

Partners with internal groups and external suppliers to execute projects on time and on budget (internal partners could include: media, performance marketing, strategy and project management and other units across the ASU Enterprise, such as LE, ASUF).

Performs other tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Nine (9) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of customer service – active listening, acknowledging, responding to inquiries; Taking ownership and resolving concerns as appropriate; Exhibiting professionalism and expertise

Demonstrated knowledge or wide variety of insights methods and strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches.

Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills

Experience in graphic presentation of complex data.

Experience in vendor management, interpersonal relations and project leadership.

Experience in facilitating external communication and meetings with key stakeholders

Experience in using project management skills, especially in a fast-paced cross-functional environment with multiple projects and priorities that change frequently

Proficient in understanding how to use a combination of insights tools to generate optimal insights given timing and budget constraints

Ability to maintain a comprehensive list of all research partners with their clearly outlined areas of expertise.

Experience in creating research RFPs, scoring proposals and making recommendations based on timing and budget constraints

Ability to create a research project catalog to showcase the Enterprise Marketing Hub’s Insights and Data Science expertise.

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse

Required to stand for varying lengths of time

Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.

Clearly communicate to perform essential functions
