Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

Prefer high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to perform miscellaneous building repairs. Ability to inspect physical condition of properties and report needed repairs. Ability to assumes responsibility for opening and closing school buildings each day and for determining all buildings is secure prior to leaving. Ability to maintain floors and corridors in a clean and safe condition. Current electrical, plumbing and carpentry experience preferred.

REPORTS TO:

Principal

JOB GOAL:

Keeps school, office, and grounds in clean and orderly condition. Tends to furnace, air conditioners, and hot water for students and staff

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervises, in conjunction with the principal, the everyday maintenance of the school.
  2. Works as well as supervises.
  3. Remains on school grounds during school hours as well as non-school hours as required.
  4. Repairs and maintains physical structures of school and office buildings, using hand tools and power tools.
  5. Repairs and/or replaces air conditioning parts, electrical, plumbing, and other fixtures.
  6. Perform other job duties as assigned.

  2. Read a variety of manuals; writes documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others. Pass a literacy test identified by the district.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

  1. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and district software, preferred accounting used software and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software).
  2. Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.
  3. Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Twelve-month, employee pay and benefits in accordance with Board policy.
  2. FLSA: Non-Exempt
  3. Full Time Employee Benefits: in accordance with Board policy.

EVALUATION:

  1. Performance to be evaluated in accordance with the Board policy on evaluation of support personnel.
