Diversified Sourcing Solutions is partnering with a company in the Birmingham area looking for a Manual Machinist. DIRECT HIRE
Pay would be between $20 and $30/hr. depending on experience and the interview.

Manual Machinist
Must have previous machining experience, as well as being able to read micrometers and calipers, as well as possessing above average math skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs set ups of large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operations of large Vertical &
Horizontal Lathes used to repair and overhaul Large Liquid Rind Vacuum Pumps & Compressors.
Interprets blueprints/drawings to determine critical dimensions, etc.
Able to read Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Dial Indicators & other precision measuring & test
equipment as required.
Able to maintain low tolerances as indicted by specifications or drawings as low as .0005 at times.
Understands how to select appropriate cutting tools for various metals
Understands how to determine speeds and feeds to obtain proper surface finish
Able to work overtime, typically throughout the week and occasionally on weekends.
Safe operation of Forklift within a Machine Shop environment
Lifting and rigging of heavy components of various configurations & weights
Safe Over Head Crane operation
Adheres to all company EH&S & QMS processes
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Assisting in the disassembly, reassembly, repair and rebuilding of Large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps
Applicants will be required to demonstrate knowledge of machine setup, as well as usage of
machine controls and capabilities.
Experience Required:
Previous experience setting up and operating large Manual Vertical & Horizontal Lathe.
Strong Mechanical Aptitude
Ability to read and interpret standard and metric dimensions from blueprints
Ability to perform basic preventative maintenance on operations of Vertical & Horizontal Lathes.
Education/Training Required:
Technical/vocational degree in Machining highly desired. High School diploma or GED equivalent
required. Good communications skills necessary
