Job Description

Working directly with the Director of Marketing & Communication, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies to build public awareness of Club services, programs, and fundraising activities. Adapts or creates messages and designs for digital correspondence and materials for promoting upcoming events, campaigns, programs to the public, including social media, direct and email marketing, flyers, or similar.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Website development, updating, or editing. Works under guidance to keep BGCT website current and can create updates with relatively short notice. Visit Clubs for photo and video opportunities

Create and manage fundraising pages on BGCT websites.

Coordinate social media platforms with current and relevant news and information as related to BGCT mission and clubhouse activity.

Increase followers and growth of electronic contact database.

Coordinate BGCT e- newsletters and e-fundraising campaigns on a monthly and as needed basis through Constant Contact.

Attend Clubhouses or events as needed to record video or taking photos. Works with Clubhouse personnel as needed to obtain existing photos or videos as requested.

Track analytics for website and social media.

Monitor online activity and traffic and distribute monthly reports to supervisor.

Works under guidance to prepare and create digital graphics including content for social media, fliers, posters, banners, newsletters, etc.

Support online auctions for fundraising events including photography, online item entry, and management of auction software.

Attend fundraising and clubhouse events and support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

2 year degree in a relevant field and minimum of 2 years experience in website/social media maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must meet the requirements to drive for the organization including being at least 21 years of age, have a valid drivers license with good driving record and consistent access to a motor vehicle with required insurance coverage.

Desired Competencies:

Strong working knowledge and a background in design programs including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Canva

Background knowledge and some experience in digital photography, videography, video editing software, and sound editing software.

Experience in building websites through Wordpress with some basic knowledge of coding, layout aesthetics, photo and video copyrights, and modern website building in general.

Working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Basic knowledge of contemporary digital marketing practices for these platforms a plus.

Superior interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to represent the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucsons mission and interests to a diverse group of people.

Excellent user of office technology and information systems (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and donor databases, preferable Donor Perfect.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work successfully with a high degree of attention to detail and minimum supervision.

Ability to establish and monitor priorities, remain flexible and meet deadlines

Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity

Ability to function either independently or as an active team member

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Pre-employment drug testing and a background check is part of our hiring process.

Position is full time. Starting wage is $16.83 an hour depending on experience. Position is eligible for benefits.
